My knowledge and appreciation for fine art began
in the mid-1960's. I worked as a sales associate
at the well-known Country Store Gallery in
Austin, Texas. Mr. Carl Barho was the general
manager of the store and had tremendous
experience as curator and sales manager. It was
a privilege to learn the art business under his
direction.
We sold
original oil paintings and other works of art,
including great master and artists of the
southwest. Especially:
-
Rembrandt
-
Chagall
-
Renoir
-
Melvin C.
Warren
-
Porfirio
Salinas
-
Peter Hurd
I moved to Albuquerque,
New Mexico in 1973 as owner of the G/M
Steakhouse in downtown Albuquerque. Many of my
guests were talented artists and craftsmen. As a
result of such a wealth of talent, I opened Art
America Gallery to represent Native American and
southwest artists.
This evolved into
ArtNativeAmerican.com. Enjoy!
